my iPhone chess on my Music when my Screen is turned off and then when I go to the app to unpause the music, it has skipped to the very last song in my queue. I’ve tried restarting my iPhone and I’m downloading and re-downloading the app

Hello and thank you for the note. It appears to be working now. Thank you. I uninstalled the app and then played around with the power saver settings. In case you are still curious, it is an iPad Pro 13” (M4), using WiFi on my home network. iPadOS 18.0.1.
Pandora version 2409.1.

Hi @Jtb
Welcome to community!
Thanks for posting your experience. Can you please confirm the following info:
- iOS version:
- Pandora version:
When this happens are you connected to any other devices like a speaker? Or using AirPlay to connect to another device?
Thanks for the help!

Hi @Jtb
Thanks for the follow up. It's interesting that when connected through Bluetooth is works. I've gone ahead and passed this along to our engineering team for further investigation.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

I’m having the same issue. When my iPhone screen locks or I put the app in the background it stops playing after about a minute. I use this app to workout and it’s frustrating that it always stops. Please fix ASAP!!!

Been having the same issue for about 1-2 months. Tried uninstalling, logging out, forcing all devices to log out, powering off the phone then reinstalling. No luck. Background app refresh is on.
I've been listening to and loving Pandora since it was the Music Genome Project and been a paid subscriber since they were first offered, and sing Pandora's praises any time a conversation about music or music services comes up. This bug makes Pandora completely unusable for me. Just wanted to put one more tick on the tally for this bug. Hopefully y'all can get it solved soon. I'm a mobile app developer and would be happy to provide testing and/or feedback with Testflight or if you have any more advanced steps than the basic troubleshooting.

Any update on the issue ?? Getting annoyed & not worth paying for this if it continues.

Out of nowhere. No app update. No recent power cycling of the phone. It started working properly. Wish I had something helpful to explain why or how to fix the issue. Hopefully the same happens for you.

I’m not connected to AirPlay or Bluetooth. Playback stops as soon as the screen goes black on my iPhone. If I wake the phone the track skips to a random song.
on iOS 17.5.1 and Pandora

Mine is now doing this and I’m wondering if in retrospect you’ve somehow determined what may have been your root cause? It doesn’t happen when I’m connected to a power source. But it does when I’m operating on battery. So I’m thinking some sort of time out in either iPadOS or Pandora but I cannot find anything.

Hi @Atleasttwocha , sorry for the trouble. Could you tell me more about your device?
- Device & Generation: (e.g. iPhone X, iPad Air (3rd gen), etc.)
- Carrier:
- iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
- Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)
- Do you have a battery saving feature enabled for Pandora?
Also please let me know how it goes after uninstalling, reinstalling and restarting your phone after that.

Interesting. I’ll go have a look at my power settings. I get the iOS public betas and when I upgraded to the first iOS 18.1 beta this issue came back. When 18.1 came out of beta I think the issue may have resolved itself again, but it’s hard to tell since I now leave my phone unlocked and turn the screen brightness all the way down most of the time when I listen to Pandora. Not a great solution. I’m on 18.2 beta now. I’ll try locking the screen today and see if the issue comes back.

For about a month, when I lock my phone Pandora will continue to play, but only for maybe 30 seconds. I open Pandora, the app restarts, and so does the song. It also appears to be doing this while I’m using my phone, as it just shut off and says no music is playing. I can not get through one song. I haven’t changed any settings between Pandora working and not working.
