Hey there, @Swoods71. 👋

I moved your post over to a separate thread in the iOS section of the community.

I’ve enabled a trace on your Pandora account to help us better understand what’s happening. For this trace to be useful, we’ll need you to run through our troubleshooting steps here.

Let me know how it goes, and whether you still experience this issue. 🎧

@lmf1957-aolcom Could you tell me a bit more about what is happening?

  1. When songs cut off for you, does Pandora stop playing music entirely? Or does the song end before it ever reaches the end of its time, and Pandora moves on to the next track?
  2. Is there an error message when songs cut off? If so, what does it say?
  3. Can you provide me with a screenshot/screen-recording of what you're seeing?

Thanks for working with me on this. 🤝

I have the same issue with my iphone or app on my mac. It happens 100% of the time. Partway through the song, it abruptly cuts to the next song. Then the same things happens. No error message.

I've been having the same trouble for a few months. Spent a lot of time troubleshooting-researching an Amazon Alexa situation, but after it happened on my laptop I eventually realized the Alexa is just playing what Pandora's offering.

And it ALWAYS seems to happen (no matter what station I'm listening to) about 1/2 way through some great song that I haven't heard in decades and I'm having a great time reminiscing and BLAM song stops cold and another song starts without missing a beat! Any help would be awesome!!

Hi there, @Caitness. 👋

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble listening.

Could you tell me a bit more about how you're set up?

Are you using an iOS device? Or, just your Amazon Alexa device?

Let me know more about how you're connected and streaming Pandora. 🎧

Hi Alyssa,

I'm using the Amazon Alexa Device at home and in the car, the issue is the same. The devices are connected to wifi via Bluetooth... well, I guess in the car it's connected to my Verizon Wireless data account. But, either way, the same thing happens in both places. I think if it was a wifi or Bluetooth issue, I would see some similar behavior in other devices - skipping, lagging, randomly closing - that use those connections. I hope this helps!

Hi, @MusicBird81 @Lokopo. 👋

Thanks for your recent posts.

Could you share a bit more about what you're encountering when the songs cut off prematurely?

  • Are you receiving any error messages? If so, what exactly does it say?
  • Are you connected to any other devices when this occurs?

It's also helpful to know more about your iOS device:

  • Device & Generation: (e.g. iPhone X, iPad Air (3rd gen), etc.)
  • Carrier:
  • iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)

Thanks for your help with this. 🎧

I can't speak for the other person, but I'm also having the same issue.

Its hard to get a screen record of a past event.

Simply put, before a song is over, Pandora skips to the next song. Not sure why but it's annoying.

I have a premium subscription and my songs continually end or cut off before they finish?  Why?  How do I fix this?

Why do the post keep getting separated into separate threads. It appears to happen  regardless of the device. I’m using Sonos and it does it there as well as on my iPhone.

Hi @Anothrannoydusr ,

Let's try some troubleshooting steps to see if they help.

For starters, if you haven't,  please try out these steps to uninstall / reinstall the app: iOS Troubleshooting.

Also, for your Sonos:

  • First, ensure that your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Sonos.
  • Next, check for any updates to the Sonos and Pandora apps. To check for any necessary updates, visit the app store on your device.
  • If you continue to have trouble after you've done that, make sure that your Sonos' firmware is up to date.
  • To check for firmware updates from an iOS device, open your Sonos app and tap on the More tab. Select Settings and then Check for Updates.
  • Once any necessary updates are complete, restart your Sonos device and try Pandora again.

Feel free to keep me updated about what happens by posting directly on this thread.
