iOS: Unable to play My Thumbs Up playlist

Nolanster
Opening Act

I can’t play my thumbs up playlist.  I deleted app and rebooted then re-installed with no success.

I can’t get my thumbs up playlist to play.   Deleted and reinstalled.  Using iOS 18 on iPhone.

Selected first song to see if plays with no success then selected play button above with no success.

family member plan.    Plus run a at race on my account.  This is annoying and should not be happening as I have over 1500 songs in thumbs up which.i want to play on shuffle.

My issue has been resolved with playing playlists over 100 songs

To clear the cache for the Pandora app on an iPhone, you can:
  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap General
  3. Select iPhone Storage
  4. Find the Pandora app and select it
  5. Tap Offload App
  6. Download Pandora

Hi @Nolanster

I've created a new post based on your experience.

Could you share a few extra details about what is happening when you try to play your My Thumbs Up Playlist?

Does this happen in Online Mode, Offline Mode, or both? Based on your description it seems like the playlist is unresponsive when trying to play, does that sound accurate? Do you know if this only happens on your iPhone or on another device like a web browser?

Hello Tanner,

The thumbs up playlist is unresponsive and won't play in online mode through Pandora App on iOS18.   However, the thumbs up playlist will play through web browser on the laptop.

I use the pandora app 100% of the time to play my music.

Update: I logged out of the app, deleted the app, and rebooted.   Then reinstalled the app.   Now, it does not show any of my playlists.   This is getting ridiculous as I pay for the family monthly plan and can’t play any of my playlists as they are not showing.

Please run a trace on my account and get this fixed.  This should not be happening.

No playlists showing and I had a lot of them.

If I goto profile, it shows 44 playlists but not showing when I goto my collections and select playlists from drop down.

IMG_8133.jpeg

When I goto my profile and select thumbs up playlist or grunge/rock radio playlist which have over 500 to 1500 songs and select play.   They do not play.     Something is wrong with the code on your end that is causing this issue.

Please do the needful to get this fixed as I rely on music during my workday to help get through the day.

Other playlists under 100 under my profile will play without issue.   It seems songs in playlist over certain amount will not play.

@Nolanster To clarify, are your playlists still missing when you navigate to My Collection > Playlists?

If not, are you now able to play your My Thumbs Up playlist from that list?

Are you only experiencing issues getting that playlist to play from your profile now?

Let me know.

To clarify, are your playlists still missing when you navigate to My Collection > Playlists?   Yes

What can be done to fix this on your end?  This should not be happening and would like my playlists back plus be able to play my big playlists without issues.

Hi @Nolanster

Thanks for the updates. Glad to hear your playlists have returned, but sorry to hear your two largest playlist are still having trouble.

I don't believe there are any other troubleshooting steps that I could offer that would help effectively resolve this issue for you. Also, after spending some time looking over the trace logs for your account, I didn't see anything that looked abnormal. Therefore, I've gone ahead and passed this along to our engineering team for further investigation.

Thanks for your patience!

@TannerPandora - how will someone get in touch with me to advise further on my issue?

This is really frustrating and would like to play these 2 playlists as I listen to them all the time.

@TannerPandora @AdamPandora -

UPDATE - First of all, I am using an iPhone 15 Pro Max updated to iOS 18.1.1 and I am on the premium family plan.

A couple of observations I discovered tonight:

1. When accessing Pandora on the web through my laptop, I am able to play any playlist whether it has 10 songs or 1500 songs without issue.

2. When I play a playlist through the Pandora app on my phone, I can play any playlist under 100 songs....anything over 100 songs I am UNABLE to play at all.

Either there is bug in the app software or pandora is limiting users on the app in playing playlists over 100 songs.

I am a premium paying customer and I should not be having this issue...This is really getting frustrating as I use playlists a lot when I am working as I can use the shuffle feature through my playlists on the pandora app through my iPhone 100% of the time.   I would really appreciate it if this issue can be seriously looked at and addressed ASAP.

I would like some type of update from the engineers in a timely manner with a reply to show they are looking into it.

@Hemy16 Welcome to Community!

Could you tell me a bit more about what you're experiencing? Is this happening when you're listening in Online Mode, Offline Mode, or both?

Is this also happening with other playlists? Or is it only happening with your Thumbs Up playlist?

Online in the app, IOS 18 (started doing it last year with 17).   Everything works fine except for any playlist that is a "thumbs up".  When you touch play either nothing happens or the screen flashes repeatedly and nothing plays.  Any playlist that is not a "thumbs up" works fine.    To fix I have to delete the app and reinstall and then its good for 5-7 days before it happens again.

@Hemy16 Thanks for providing that information. Could you tell me more about your device?

  • Carrier:
  • iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)

Looking forward to your reply.
