The spookiest of seasons is upon us. As the energy of the sun shifts to the sign of Scorpio, not only will the overall mood shift but even the days will start to embrace a darker undertone. Let’s not sugarcoat it: Scorpio is the most misunderstood sign of the entire zodiac. Mysterious and secretive, Scorpios reflect the artistic and emotional qualities of any water sign, but they love to express themselves through hidden messages—as Lorde in “Royals.” Or perhaps this alluring mystique is only part of their world domination strategy—in full display in Diplo’s “Heartless.” But on the inside, Scorpios are sensitive, hopeless romantics. If it’s too hard to believe that they do (sometimes) wear their heart on their sleeve, just listen to Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You."

Music’s physical-to-digital evolution has given rise to an era of unprecedented music discovery, but it has sometimes made it difficult to find the kind of credits and information that used to live on LP sleeves and CD inserts. Who wrote that song? Who played the instruments? Who produced the beat and arranged the strings?
We believe in giving credit where it’s due. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Pandora now displays full song credits for millions of tracks in our massive music library, highlighting all of the people – both in front of the mic and behind-the-scenes – who played a role in the creation of your favorite tunes.
Starting today, full song credits are accessible to Pandora users across all tiers of service on the web at Pandora.com and on Pandora’s new desktop apps for Mac and Windows.
The first few credits are visible on a song’s details page. To view the full list of credits, just click on “See All Song Credits” to see all of the people who participated in bringing your favorite tracks to life – from background singers to songwriters to the guy who played the marimba on “Sweet Emotion” (it was recording engineer Jay Messina).
One of our favorite new artists, Grammy-winning R&B rising star H.E.R., shares our excitement:
“You always have to give credit where it’s due! Songwriters and producers put their heart into what they create! And to know who it comes from makes it even more special and personal.” – H.E.R.
Check out this exclusive Pandora Story about the world’s most prolific drummer, Hal Blaine, who has played on over 6,000 singles and 35,000 recording sessions – making him a virtual king of song credits!
And this playlist features even more songs with extensive credits and amazing backstories. Did you know that Taylor Swift wrote “This Is What You Came For” by Calvin Harris (feat. Rihanna), or that Eric Clapton played lead guitar on The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps?” Those and countless other fascinating details behind millions of songs are available at your fingertips on Pandora starting today!
We’re also proud to be a supporting partner of the Recording Academy’s “Behind the Record” campaign, a new social media-based initiative launching tomorrow, October 25th, with over 200 artists helping to spotlight the need for credits and the range of creators who contribute to the music recording process.

The Marvel universe is expanding. Marvel Entertainment has set a multi-year deal with SiriusXM and Pandora to produce original, scripted podcast series based on their superhero characters, Marvel and SiriusXM announced Tuesday.
The podcasts will debut through SirirusXM and Pandora’s podcast channels beginning in 2020 and will each be 10 episodes long, focusing on original stories on the characters Wolverine, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Star-Lord, as well as a fifth series in which all four team up.
The deal also includes plans for unscripted talk shows and interview shows featuring celebrity guests, as well as themed live events, all of which will premiere in 2020.
“Powerful stories are read, seen, and heard – and we believe audio is the next natural step to bring the Marvel Universe to fans around the world,” Dan Buckley, president of Marvel Entertainment, said in a statement. “Storytelling has always been at the heart of Marvel’s success, and SiriusXM and Pandora have the right platform and expertise to bring Marvel’s rich tapestry of stories to listeners in a whole new way. We are excited to introduce an impressive roster of programming with SiriusXM and Pandora, and we can’t wait to share more details in the weeks and months to come.”
“Whether in movies, TV or other media, Marvel has been a success everywhere it goes, employing a level of quality and pop culture brilliance that organically draws massive audiences, and they are bringing that creative genius to SiriusXM and Pandora,” Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s president and chief content officer, said in a statement. “We chose Marvel for our first major foray into creating original podcasts, and are thrilled to have Marvel create new audio programming and curate top quality podcasts for SiriusXM and Pandora. Under our new creative collaboration with Marvel, we’ll now provide our subscribers and listeners and Marvel fans a breadth and depth of podcasts that will be an immersive adventure into the iconic Marvel universe.”
Marvel Entertainment already produces several podcasts, including the unscripted shows “This Week in Marvel” and “Women of Marvel,” as well as scripted series like “Wolverine: The Lost Trail.” And SiriusXM and Marvel previously teamed up in August to air a music station and channel in celebration of Marvel’s 80th anniversary and Marvel issue #1000.
Once available, SiriusXM subscribers with streaming access can listen to all Marvel podcasts at home via smart TVs, Amazon Alexa devices, Apple TV, Sony PlayStation, Roku, Sonos speakers and more. As Pandora’s Head of Latin Music Marcos Juárez is responsible for curating Latin Music content for all Latin music genres. In his essay, Marcos talks about the impact of Latin music in pop culture and it’s influence on mainstream. Read what he has to say below...
Pandora Latin Takes the Road Less Traveled
In 2019, the reach of Latin music seems to know no limits. From high-profile collaborations with general market artists, to headlining festivals and huge endorsement deals, our culture has become increasingly integrated with global popular culture. For Latinos the world over, this can be seen as a moment of empowerment and a validation of the common roots and shared history that make up our diverse and rich pan-Latin identity. Without a doubt, all the recent exposure has been truly extraordinary. And while the exposure may be new, the culture is the same. We’ve always influenced the mainstream; the difference is that now we’re getting credit for it. In the past, our culture had to pass through various filters before reaching mass markets. Now, instead of our sounds being appropriated and approximated, visibility is being given to (and taken by) the authentic creators and owners of the music. But make no mistake – Latin music was already huge before the global spotlight, sustained and nurtured for decades by generations of adoring fans across the Americas and beyond.
Marcos is Pandora's Head of Latin Music
The beauty of the current phenomenon is that the world now has an opportunity to experience what we’ve always known. Obviously, there is a lot to celebrate here. But as we continue to break down barriers, one can’t help but ask the question: now what? As Latin music continues to explode, it will be important to not get blinded by the light. What is new and invigorating can become over-exposed and predictable. This is the nature of pop culture and we see it repeated as trends come and go. Certain questions will continue to persist. Within the mainstream of Latin music, is there only space for 10 artists to be exposed during any given period? Does everyone have to look and sound virtually the same? This is not a knock on pop culture, nor a critique of celebrity. The reality is that the mainstream affords us a very small window to be uniquely ourselves. Within the fervor of global success, we can’t forget the fundamental importance of nurturing local music scenes.
Marcos opens up about Latin Music's dominance in pop culture
The artist is a reflection of their environment, and by extension, their audience. This relationship will continue to be the root of innovation. Every genre begins as a marginalized expression of identity, embraced by those who can relate and those who are misunderstood by the masses. To that end, Pandora offers El Detour.
El Detour is a deviation from the mainstream. It is a listening experience rooted in the innovative and the new. We are seeking to highlight the artists who defy genre and can’t be neatly fit into a box. Included are Latinx artists who have made huge names for themselves by being independent, like Kali Uchis and Cuco, as well as artists who are generating a ton of buzz with audiences from coast to coast, like The Marías and Helado Negro. These are the artists and sounds that are pushing the music forward and challenging the status quo. We invite you to take a listen. The future looks bright.
