Since you mentioned that the app crashes and shuts down your Volvo I've created a new thread since this is a different experience than Pandora not connecting.
This is the first time I've heard of this happening. I'd like to report this to our engineering team for further investigation. Can you tell me more about your experience in further detail? Please be as specific as possible. Beginning with what actions took place leading up to Pandora crashing and your vehicle shutting down. (For example, you turned your Volvo on, tap the Pandora app, etc.)
Can you also let me know the model and year of your Volvo?

Happy to pass this along to our engineer team for further investigation. Can you clarify if Auto-Start, Launch From Car or both are disabled. The two features do different things depending on how you're connected.
Auto-Start: When enabled, will resume playing when the app launches.
Launch from Car: Prevents Pandora from playing automatically when connecting to your vehicle via Bluetooth.
Could you also let me know some info about your Samsung:
The Pandora version? Is it 2210.1?
Android OS version?
Are you connected to Android Auto?

To clarify, do you mean you see the Station you'd like to play but it won't play? Playing individual tracks is not a feature of the ad-supported version of Pandora Radio.
Can you share a picture of what you're seeing when connected to your vehicle? You can include that photo in your reply here directly on community.

Thanks, @gth791q! Pandora version 2210.1 was recently released and while I doubt it will change anything, it never hurts to try the latest version.
Additionally, out of curiosity, when your phone transitions to offline mode, is there an option to transition back to online mode from within stations? It may appear as an arrow rotating counter clockwise.

Do you have another Pandora account under a different email address you may have used in the past? If so, let me know and I'll message you privately to gather additional info - please don't post email addresses publicly.

What is the model and year of your Subaru?
If you're using an aftermarket stereo, what is the make and model of that device?
What is the make and model of your phone?

Specific Volvo models do offer an integrated Pandora app build into the cars infotainment system. However, this integrated app is powered by a Wi-Fi Hotspot built into your vehicle. This hotspot will need to be activated and working properly in order to stream Pandora.
