Android App constant notification

ponyjc

Hi, I use the app on Android and I want the app to turn on when I turn on my car but when I turn that setting on there is a constant notifiaction on top and I don't like that. I need the notification tray to be clear. is there a way to remove the notification without turning the feature off?

Thanks

Hi @ponyjc! Thanks for posting.

Sounds like you  have the 'Enable Launch From Car' setting enabled, this will prompt a notification from Pandora that will appear any time you connect to any Bluetooth device, since Pandora cannot distinguish between vehicles and other Bluetooth devices.

This notification is required by your Android device. If the message bothers you, you can disable the Launch from car setting. Keep in mind that if you disable the Launch from car feature, you'll have to launch Pandora on your phone before you connect your phone to your car via USB or Bluetooth. Otherwise, it won't connect properly.

Hope this helps.

Would it be possible to separate this top bar banner from the player notification? I want to be able to turn off that constant notification showing waiting to connect without losing the ability to control my songs playing when I'm active in the app.

Hey @Jameswi33

Little confused by what you mean. Can you take a screenshot and show me what you see?

Do you mean to keep playback controls but separate the notifications?

I have the same issue. It displays the notification stating "Pandora is ready to be launched automatically by your car." But then it will never actually launch, I have to open it manually every time.

Hi @JBellStrife! Does the notification appear on your mobile device or on the car head unit? Can you share a screenshot or picture of the notification? You can include the picture here on community in your post.

Can you also let me know the make and model of your mobile device and the Pandora version you're on? Let me know if you need help finding this. Thank you!

I would upload a screenshot but there is no option to upload photos on here.

Exact words from the Pandora notification are in bold, "Pandora is ready to be launched automatically by your car"   then in subtext, "To disable go to Pandora > Settings > Advanced"

If the app is already open it will resume playing when I connect to a bluetooth speaker or my car, however that is an "auto resume" not and "auto launch" so to speak. When that notification pops up I have to tap it or go to the app itself and open it before it will start playing, but this defeats the purpose of it being "launch automatically...." as when starting my car, or my bike even moments from turning on the accessory power to the ignition it will require me to take out my phone and open the app again manually.

My car is a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, bike is 2021 Vulcan. Same issue with headphones and stand-alone speakers and other sound systems though so it's not what I'm connecting to, but the app itself not launching and instead asking if I want to disable the feature.
