Has anyone been experiencing any problems with Pandora while using Apple CarPlay after updating your iPhone to iOS 18?

Has anyone written a review about the problems with the app with iOS 18.x in the App Store? They are rated high, and maybe if their star rating starts going down, it will grab their attention. Just sayin...

Great idea. Just wrote a one-star review in the App Store.

Cheers.

As explained to me by Apple, the responsibility falls on Pandora to update their systems to work with the new IOS operating systems as they are released. That said, it is still important for their partners meaning Pandora to comply with these updates. Otherwise they are not being good partners. I don’t know if pressure from Apple is the answer but social media shaming of Pandora along with the fact that Apple is perpetuating a relationship with a partner that is noncompliant to maintaining Apple’s updates as they are released might be.

I am on Version 2409.1 and Pandora still doesn't work.  I still get the message that content can't load and it also doesn't transition to show the current playing station.

Definitely still not working… very frustrating Pandora version 2409.1 and IOS 18.1. Playlists won’t load in CarPlay

I have left a review on the App detailing the issues we are having. This is a developer issue and they are pretty pathetic to not have fixed this issue already. Someone on the board here mentioned that Sirius owned Pandora but I called them and while they have a station called Pandora it isn’t this app - plus it requires a Sirius premium level subscription.

If after you do that you click the triangle on the top right, now playing
you can the. See your station and what’s playing. It’s a workaround but
it’s something.

Still hasn’t fixed it with 2409.1. Still the exact same errors, how did you guys not know this was going to happen? Especially since iOS 18 in beta form has been out for quite a while. When can we expect a fix?

To my fellow subscribers... There is 200+ comments on this thread alone, there are around 3+ other threads complaining about Pandora having compatibility issues with ios-18 CarPlay...

Pandora has NOT put out a FIX.

All subscriber efforts to FIX the compatibility issues themselves is a waste of time.

All we can do is wait for Pandora to (maybe) FIX it.

Yes - I have same issue with loading and thumbs up or down options are not present. In addition, when you select a station it doesn’t default to station selected anymore

I could not agree with you more. Your post is well written. Unfortunately, you can see that the problem is not resolved. We have a brand new 450 SE and a new iPhone 16. It can take up to 10 minutes for us to get Music to play Not only is this dangerous if there’s one person in the car but I agree 100%. it is frustrating. What makes matters worse is. Pandora has no way to contact them except through this form, which I have yet to get responses to my numerous post or know how to . Thank you for for your efforts, and I will keep trying also

Just got this from their "support team":

Hello,

Thanks for hanging in there with us.

I understand this has been a frustrating experience and its impact on your listening experience. While we can't offer a timeline for a resolution, our engineering teams are continuing to investigate. We'll be sure to update you when a resolution is available.

Thanks again for your patience!

I did too and here was my reply:

Hi Nelida

I appreciate the update but if Pandora truly valued its relationship and revenue stream from their subscribers and that of the monies paid to them by their advertisers for the Pandora free subscribers then this matter would’ve been resolved long ago. Regrettably, that’s not the case.

I can only guess that Pandora is leaving the business of streaming music and cares very little for these two customer bases whose money they’re still collecting.

Tell me I’m wrong, tell me something other that sending me some “we’re working on it” boiler plate BS. Why string us all along

"I can only guess that Pandora is leaving the business of streaming music ..."

I think, from what I have read, that is a very correct assessment.

Apparently, Pandora was bought in 2019 for $3.5 Billion by SiriusXm. I have seen, over time, a number of articles indicating that Pandora's business performance did not meet SiriusXM's expectations and, per a 2021 news report, had then lost over 10 million users. Other articles I have seen this past year seem to indicate the loss of users continues and "... Pandora ... eyes ... further cost efficiencies". Therefore, it makes sense to me, SiriusXM is just not going to pump any consequential resources into an apparently dying product and fix this problem. I am very disappointed as Pandora does a good job of serving all my auto entertainment needs and I would much prefer to continue to use it.

I believe you hit the nail on the head. Something I’ve been saying for sometime now, but not as a eloquently.
