Hello! Everytime I lock my iPhone pandora stops playing and changes the song . It started doing this about 3 days ago. Any suggestions ? Only does it when I do not have my AirPods on.

I found a fix that has worked for me, hope it works for y’all!

• disconnect from aux cable or bluetooth

• click profile on bottom right for iOS/android

• click the settings in pandora

• go to the advanced tab and uncheck auto lock under conserve battery

• reconnect to your aux or Bluetooth

for whatever reason when my phone locked pandora recognized that my phone has lost service and then would skip tracks after doing the steps above I was able to make that stop!

I did notice though if the tracks are downloaded it does it regardless. I just went and removed the downloaded songs

• profile bottom right

• settings - audio quality/downloads

• reset downloads

shouldn’t be this way at all however this is a workaround for now.

It’s January 20, 2024 and I’m a paying subscriber to Pandora Premium having the exact same issue with tracks skipping. I have already tried the debugging steps. When I use Spotify I do not have this issue so it’s clearly a bug with Pandora’s iOS app. I am extremely disappointed that there is not any fix for a major software bug like this for over a year. This is extremely unprofessional. Please pass my comments along to the relevant teams and let me know how you will compensate us for the app lacking basic functionality that we paid for.

Hello! When I lock my phone screen while listening to a downloaded playlist it will automatically skip to a random song. I’ve noticed this only happens if the playlist is downloaded. This started happening a couple months ago and I have tried different solutions like deleting and reinstalling the app, logging out and back in and making sure everything’s up to date but none of them fixed this problem. Thanks!

Hi there, @F1yAgaric. 👋

Sorry to hear that this is happening during your listening sessions. I moved your post over to this existing thread to keep everything organized: iOS: Tracks skip when phone screen is locked

Based on your message, it sounds like you're run through the standard troubleshooting steps here: iOS Troubleshooting

Could you tell me more about your device?

  • Device & Generation: (e.g. iPhone X, iPad Air (3rd gen), etc.)
  • Carrier:
  • iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)
  • Have you noticed any error messages? If so, what exactly does it say?

Let me know, and I can report this on your behalf. 🎧

Generation - iPhone12 mini

carrier-Verizon

IOS- 17.4.1

pandora version- 2401.1.2

there have been no error messages it just skips.

Also while scrolling through the thread I noticed that other people have been having the same problem as far back as 2022 and they have all gotten is the generic response of “run through the troubleshooting steps” and “we’re working on it” so, I’m curious if anything is actually being done about this problem?

I was having the same issue. Switched my audio quality from high to standard and fixed my phone.

But for my wife she is still having the issue.

  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • IOS 17.4.1
  • Pandora: 2403.1

Hey everyone, since pandora doesn’t want to fix this I have finally found a solution for me!! Turn off auto lock in your display settings. Set it to “never”! Now my music keeps playing when the screen locks due to pushing the side button on the right YEAH!

Pandora keeps skipping songs when I lock my device. I am a Pandora premium member and debating to cancel if this issue isn’t resolved. I can’t listen to anything for more than a few seconds.

@tfazio93 Could you tell me a bit more about what is happening? Are you listening to Pandora on a computer or on a device?

  1. If you are on a computer, are you listening from:
    • A Mac or Windows computer?
    • Our website, or the desktop app? If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?
  2. If you are on a device, what is the make and model (and carrier, if applicable)?
  3. Is there an error message? If so, what does it say?
  4. Can you provide me with a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Thanks for working with me on this.

I had a iPhone 12 Pro Max, now I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I’m still getting skipping when I press the side button on my device. No error message and can’t screenshot. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still the same results. Any idea why this is happening?

Should we have to do that if we’re paying for certain features? I think it should work regardless but, thank you for the band aid until it’s resolved, I hope they fix this issue.

Oh I agree we shouldn’t have to but it didn’t last long trying it that way and it went back to skipping songs🥺💔🤬

I have come to find that the issue is when online is available downloaded stations/playlist will skip when auto-locking or locking it yourself.

tfazio93

That’s another unfortunate thing because I pay to download them yet to get it to work I have to jump through hoops. I’m salty that there are similar posts that have no real resolutions as well, dating way back. If they fixed it then we wouldn’t be having this conversation and we would be getting what we pay for lol, don’t hold your breath. 🤷‍♂️🙃

Me and my family have had this issue across multiple devices since the inception of Pandora premium. iOS 12 to today. Iphone 6, 7 max, 13 mini, iphone 12 pro, iphone XR.

It happens when using a wired headphones set only, when listening to offline stations only. If the screen locks during play it skips the song and deletes it.

Pandora y'all suck. This is years in the making, and y'all know it's a problem. So many threads mentioning it. Try it yourself with any iphone, download a station, go to offline mode, and use a wired headphone (either using the aux adapter or an official wired iphone headphone.)

Can’t be fixed or they won’t fix it. Either way, it’s messed up.

PANDORA: Can we fix this?? Also, what’s the number I may call to ask about this being resolved. Thank you.

I’m not even a blip on their radar so this will most likely gain no traction.

Hi @Greyout! Thanks for your continued patience. We are working on a resolution, but do not yet have an ETA for when that will be available. We'll continue to follow along with engineering conversations and relay updates to you as they become available.

How in the world does "We don't have a clue about what's wrong or how to fix it" translate to "Accepted as a Solution"?

I'm about done paying for pandora and I've been paying since you had to pay.

Doesn’t work for me. Download mode and having keep you phone on without going to sleep is ridiculous. If I’m traveling I want to conserve battery and keep it in sleep mode more. Pandora always have trouble with everything. Get better engineers
