It's expected for the music to continue to play if you exit the Pandora app on your Firestick. If you'd like to stop the music you'll need to either click the pause button within the Pandora app or push pause on the remote.

To clarify, GMC requires specific data plans in order to stream content within the vehicle. For example, GMC Maps+, Amazon Alexa built-in and in-vehicle apps, like Fox Sports and Pandora.

For driving safety, browsing is limited when using Android Auto, a configuration implemented by Google. This will include most third-party streaming apps, such as Pandora.
Alternatively, you can try using voice commands to find what you'd like to listen to. For example, you can say things like "Play X song" or "Play X album".

How is your smartphone connected to your car? (Bluetooth, USB, Aux)
Is your vehicle equipped with Android Auto?
Have you experienced this issue only when in the car, or when connected to other devices outside the car?

Are you using an aftermarket stereo or stock stereo? If an aftermarket stereo, can you let me know the make and model of that device?
Can you tell me the Pandora app version you're on?
Can you tell me the Android Auto version you're on?
Have you experienced this issue only when in the car, or also when listening on your phone outside the car?
Can you connect to your vehicle with a Bluetooth connection only and try to listen to Pandora? This will help to determine if it's the connection with Android Auto.

I created a new post for your question under the Account board.
You can unsubscribe from email notifications by clicking on your profile icon in the top right corner.
Click on My Settings > Click on Email > Under Email Settings, check the box next to 'Don't send me any community emails' - don't forget to hit Save when you're done.

I've removed the Yamaha connection with your Pandora account. When this takes affect, you'll automatically be logged out. Can you run through the set-up and see if you're still having the same trouble.
Additionally, other listeners have mentioned that rebooting their network connection has helped with this issue.
Shut down your Yamaha completely;
Unplug your modem and router, wait 10 minutes, and then plug them back in;
Wait five more minutes to allow the modem and router to fully boot back up;
Turn your Yamaha back on and try Pandora again.
