RESOLVED: Windows Desktop App: Won't Stay Signed In

zaqxsw
Opening Act

Sign on request everytime I start Pandora Windows Desktop App.

For the last month or longer, Pandora requires me to do a complete sign on every time I start it up. This hasn't been the case for the years. Kind of getting tired of typing my sign on name and password several times a day!

No problem with my iPhone IOS bPandora app.

Thanks for any replies!

@LeonPandora I'm still having the problem - just happened this morning.

I've also just started having this issue with the Pandora Windows app during the past several months.  It previously didn't require me to log in more than once, but now it seems that every other time I start it, it shows the blue "Pandora" screen and just hangs.  I have to close it restart it, then it prompts for login.  I log in and it works fine.  If I close it and open it later, it's a 50/50 chance it will hang on the blue opening screen and have to be restarted and then I have to log in again, or it may just start properly with me logged in already.

I already did the clear cache/restart option, then reset app data option, then uninstall and redownload/reinstall the app from the MS Store, and it would work for a short time. Then, perhaps a few hours or a day later, it would hang at the blue startup screen again I'd have to close it, restart it, and log in again.

FWIW, I don't ran any antivirus or registry cleaner software other than MS Defender, but I don't launch that on a regular schedule to scan or anything -- I assume it's always running in the background in some fashion; whatever the default mode for it is.

I am having the same problem.  I'm on my desktop PC using an installed Pandora applet.  Every time I launch the player, it either won't do anything or I have to log in.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled it but that didn't fix the problem.  It's very frustrating.

Hello,

I have macOS 26 Tahoe 26.0,

1.)  When I first open the app, it just sits on the Pandora logo forever, it could be like this for an hour or more.  The only way to get it to the login screen is to by closing the app, and re-opening it again.  This has to be done after every restart / shut down.

2.)  Once I can get the app to actually open, it makes me log in every single time.  EVERY time.  Is there a way to stay logged in to this Desktop app?  Kind of frustrating to have to type in my login info (there is no way to prefill from a password manager or other saved password).  Would be great to get this fixed.

Hi @whyispanbadnow , thanks for posting.

Sorry for the continuous trouble. Can you please tell me more about this'

  1. Do you continue to have this issue on your browser? Also on which browsers do you have this issue?
  2. Did the issue on the app started recently?

In the meantime, if you haven't, please try the Troubleshooting steps for the desktop app and let me know how it goes.

Add me to the list of affected users.  Tried uninstall/reinstall, app reset, etc... but a day later when I launch the app it just shows me the Pandora logo.  I have to close and re-open it and then it wants me to login again.

Pandora is such a pain in the @SS now.  I didn't change anything on computer so why am I made to sign in every day.  Somebody just ruined a good music platform..

The only response so far has been "I've gone ahead passed this along to the appropriate parties for further investigation".

None of the suggestions have worked, and we've heard nothing as far as what the cause could be, or even that it's being worked on.

And we're paying a subscription for what, exactly?

Yeah, change music streaming providers. Pandora is dead.

Ugh, this is getting to be too much! Not only do I need to manually input un & pw every time, it sometimes takes 4+ open/close app just to get to login screen. Yes, I've tried all the 'solutions', to no avail. It's the same goat-rope on 3 different pc's -1 win11 & 2 win10

What gives!

Same thing happens to me on the Windows 11 app I installed. I have to close the app then reopen and log in each time.

Same log in problem here. I used the website to listen to music, but it started asking for me to log in every day. Following troubleshooting steps, no change. Downloaded the Pandora app from Microsoft. Worked well for 1 day. The next day, it wanted me to log in again. Went through the troubleshooting steps again (reset app data & clear cache, restart).  With all the complaints, it's got to be something on your end. Or maybe a last minute Windows 10 update changed something.

I've been having this problem too for months.  I've tried the Clear Cache and Reset and Reset App Data so many times to no avail.  I've always wondered if it has to do with the app's own Cookie Settings, however when you scroll to the very bottom and try to click on Cookie Settings, nothing happens.  It would be awesome if it was something as simple as that - I am almost positive I rejected cookies, because that's what I do nowadays when everywhere tries to farm all your data - but it would be nice to be able to test out the theory.  So if this ever gets fixed, maybe that gets fixed too?  Or at least maybe someone can test out that theory?

Months and months later, with zero response or fix.  Already cancelled my annual renewal, so when it's up I'm done with Pandora forever.  Customer for almost 20 years now, and the utter incompetence of Pandora's development team has finally pushed me over the edge.

I have opened the desktop app now yesterday and today and it has NOT prompted me to log in, so I might be seeing the results of the above.  I'll keep monitoring, but if I don't reply further, assume that this issue is resolved from my end.

New cookies were issued yesterday. They do seem to be a solution, but it's too early to tell. I'm hoping Pandora starts remembering my Recently Played also.
